“Perhaps Messi’s departure has been the most painful (compared to others leaving), because personally I consider him the best in history. He did not deserve to leave like that, not only from Barça, nor from the league.” - Javier Tebas
When asked about if Messi’s departure could have been avoided, Tebas was quite straightforward, and said, “Yes. I know for sure his departure was not for financial reasons. His exit could have been prevented.”
Tebas strongly believes that the reason for Messi departing the
club was not due to economic reasons and it will be proved when Barcelona
releases their budget next season.
"I discussed it with Laporta personally, by phone, and with
his board of directors. Solutions were sought if the reason was
economic. If it has been for another reason, I can no longer value it.
I think that next season, with the numbers that Barca
release, we will see if Messi could really have stayed or not. And although
I respect the decision of the club, you have to tell things as they are. It was
not an economic decision. I know for sure," said Tebas.

Everyone knows that, what Tebas said isn't true.
ReplyDeleteIt was the actually the economic crisis of Barcelona, that made laliga to put restrictions on Messi's new contract renewal.
He's just putting the blame off his head and of course, laliga.
The football world watched Messi in tears, and Tebas saying these false statements, has no shame afterall.
Hey, I totally agree with you but as the author commented, its better if barcelona revealed the true numbers, and the real reason for messi's exit
